Maruti's car sales up 60 per cent in November

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) has posted 60.1 per cent growth in car sales in the domestic market for the month of November.
The performance comes on the national economy reviving earlier than economists' expectations.
The company saw its total car sales in the domestic market surge to 76,359 units in November as against 47, 704 units in the comparable month last year.
Total exports stood at 11,448 units in the month under review declining 17.43 per cent as against 13,864 units on a month-on-month basis.
The company said in a filing with the BSE that November 2008 was a month of exceptionally lean sales due to the impact of the economic slowdown.
As against November 20007 sales of 65, 216 units, the company's domestic sales grew 17.1 per cent.
Similarly, the eight-month period of the current financial year between April – November 2007, the company saw a growth in sales of 18.9 per cent from the same period of 2007.
