Maruti Suzuki sales up 17 per cent in December 2010

Maruti Suzuki Ltd, the country's top carmaker, reported a 17 per cent year-on-year jump in vehicle sales in December 2010 at 99,225 units in December 2010 against 84,804 units sold in December 2009.
This includes domestic sale of 89,469 units and exports of 9,756 units in December, Maruti Suzuki said in a release.
During April-December 2010-11, the company reported a 26 per cent jump in sales at 927,665 cars against 730,943 sold in April-December 2009-10.
April-March 2009-10 sales stood at 10,18,365 vehicles.
At 89,469 units in December 2010, domestic sales were up 6 per cent compared with 71,000 vehicles sold in December 2009.
December 2010 sales were up 23.5 per cent in the A2 segment and 19.4 per cent in the A3 segment. In the C segment, the company recorded a growth of 67.4 per cent.
