Mastek to set up mainframe centre of excellence in Chennai

Mumbai:
IT firm Mastek is setting up a centre of excellence
in Chennai, to acquire competencies in mainframe technology,
mainly in the insurance vertical.
The mainframe centre of excellence will be located at
the company''s recently launched Chennai facility at Mylapore.
The company is in the process of selecting mainframe application
developers at junior and senior levels to build competencies
in mainframe technology, mainly in the insurance vertical.
The company will also hire 5,000 professionals for a new
campus at Mahindra Industrial Park in Chennai.
In the first phase, which is likely to be completed in
the next one year, the company will recruit 1,100 professionals,
Mastek said in a press release.
Sudhakar Ram, chairman and managing director, Mastek,

process for the Chennai centre. Our vision is to build
the newly launched Mastek Chennai facility as the mainframe
centre of excellence. The team of experienced mainframe
solution architects at Mastek Chennai will provide the

The mainframe development team will closely collaborate
with the Chennai delivery unit to ensure on-time and high
quality delivery of client projects in mainframe technologies
through constant auditing and
competency building.
