Mumbai: Metafuse Inc has launched Project Insight 3.3 in the US. Project Insight 3.3 is a web-based project management software system that increases project teams'' productivity and efficiency, by providing real-time project information and collaboration.
This latest release was built in Microsoft's .NET platform and offers new features that offer more control and customisation ability for individual team members, including customisable home pages, customisable auto-alerts, customisable reports, file check-in/check-out, and file version control.
With Project Insight, project teams can access, update, and report on critical project information quickly and easily — from anywhere, at anytime — via a Web browser and Internet connection.
Project Insight allows teams to track versions of important files with version control capabilities. Also, to assure that team members do not create multiple versions of a file, a check-in/check-out feature is included.
Project Insight has always been customisable by systems administrators, but now, each team member can personalise his or her home page, customise report templates, and create personalised auto-alerts. The home page can also be rearranged entirely.
If team members like to see projects at the top, or to-do''s at the top, they can change the look and feel as they wish. The reports section has hundreds of permutations, allowing team members to filter on data fields that are most important to them and to save those report templates for reuse.
Auto-alerts can be set to designate when a task predecessor is complete, when a task is overdue, or when a task changes. Project managers can also set alerts for other team members.
Says Metafuse president Steve West: "Now that Project Insight is written in .NET, it will be able to add features very quickly and outpace its competitors. Our customers and prospects want solutions built with industry standard platforms and languages. Project Insight can be easily customised and integrated compared to non-Microsoft .NET based competitors."
Project Insight release 3.3 is immediately available in both the installed and hosted versions. Installed version requires Microsoft Windows 2000 Server running IIS 5.0+ and Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Both versions require Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0+ or Netscape 5.0+.
