Microsoft new hardware line-up to redefine overall PC experience

New Delhi: Microsoft India today announced the launch of its revolutionary 2003 range of keyboards and mice that integrate futuristic design, ergonomic comfort and industry-leading performance, guarantying an unparalleled computing experience for end users. To unveil the new range, Microsoft has organised a series of road shows across the cities of Kolkata, Bangalore, Kochi, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad.

The 2003 Hardware range includes Microsoft's largest line-up ever of wireless peripherals. These essentially include the Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer, IntelliMouse Explorer, Wireless Optical Mouse, Wireless Optical Desktop Elite, Wireless Optical Desktop Pro, Wireless Optical Desktop and Basic Wireless Optical Desktop.

Says Mohit Anand, manager, home and entertainment division, Microsoft India: "At Microsoft Hardware, our efforts are constantly geared towards delivering leading edge technological innovations that provide unmatchable value to our end users. The 2003 hardware product line-up in particular is based on customer feedback and is undoubtedly our most innovative product range ever that couples design innovation with superior functionality and ease-of-use."

The New Wireless Optical Desktop Elite includes a straight keyboard design and Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer, covered in a sleek titanium-and-metallic-grey finish, for the ultimate in performance, personalisation and panache. This desktop offers a variety of new features, including enhanced Microsoft Optical Technology for longer battery life, My Favourites Keys, a cushioned palm rest with the feel of leather, and a left-side scroll wheel on the keyboard to complement the scroll wheel on the mouse, both of which use Tilt Wheel Technology.

The new mice have a host of innovative features that include the new scroll wheel with Tilt Wheel Technology and enhanced wireless Microsoft Optical Technology. Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer, an ergonomic mouse with five buttons, is available in a variety of new finishes-Metallic Grey, Metallic Blue, Platinum and Black Leather. A wired version, IntelliMouse Explorer, is available as well. For ambidextrous comfort, Microsoft introduces Wireless Optical Mouse with a new three-button design in three vibrant colours, Metallic Red, Periwinkle and Steel Blue, and one graphic, Blue Moon.

The Microsoft update of Wireless Optical Desktop Pro features the new Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer, complete with longer battery life and a new scroll wheel, delivering an ergonomic design and sleek black-and-titanium finish with translucent keys. In addition, this year Wireless Optical Desktop, with its traditional flat keyboard in the same stylish design as its ergonomic counterpart, comes with the new ambidextrous Wireless Optical Mouse, which also includes the enhanced Microsoft Optical Technology for longer battery life and a side-to-side scroll wheel. Microsoft is also introducing in the market the Basic Wireless Optical Desktop, which delivers dependable performance for less, in a bright white-and-grey finish.

All the products will be available to customers on the web as well as from retail outlets.
