Microsoft has moved its Outlook.com Premium service from private testing to an invitation only public preview, ZD Net reports.

According to the Outlook.com Premium preview page there would be a special offer price of $19.95 per year for the first year the service is available and it would be $49.99 per year once the service was publicly available for purchase.

The Outlook.com Premium preview offers users five personalised email addresses (which could make use of an existing domain users already owned); calendar and document sharing; and an ad-free inbox. Microsoft's splash page for Outlook.com Premium says, the new service is "powered by the new Outlook.com."

Outlook.com Premium subscribers would get a personalised email address with a custom domain free for the first year, according to the frequently asked questions (FAQ) page.
