New Delhi: NIIT has said that it has taken over the content, technology and brand of e-Gurucool, a provider of e-learning for schools.
NIIT paid about Rs 1 crore to acquire 1,500 hours of digital content, technology and brand of e-Gurucool, once a high-profile learning portal during the heydays of the dotcom boom. “This move is another step forward in our strategy of expanding operations in the vast domain of IT-assisted education,” says NIIT chairman Rajendra S Pawar.
NIIT says it expects to earn Rs 100 crore from the non-formal education space by the third year where its position had now been strengthened due to the acquisition of e-Gurucool’s content and technology.
