NIIT signs MoU with Malaysian government for IT

Mumbai: NIIT Ltd has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Malaysia''s ministry of human resources to impart training in IT skills in the country. G Raghavan, president, global individual learning business, NIIT, and Romli Bin Hj Hassan, director general, Jabatan Tenaga Manusia, signed the MoU in Pulau Pinang. Under the agreement, the company will implement its ''NIIT Inside'' programme at the Arumugam Pillai Industrial Training Institute (APITI), under the aegis of the ministry, NIIT said in filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
"We are honoured to partner with government of Malaysia in its mission of developing skilled manpower. This MoU recognises the relevance of NIIT''s curricula and opens the door for thousands of students in Malaysia''s ITIs to get globally-relevant ICI skills," Raghavan said after signing the MoU.
The training major will embed its ''NIIT inside'' programme in the Malaysian institute''s curriculum. Through this partnership, NIIT and the industrial training institutes will jointly work towards creating a complete academic framework for attracting and creating a large base of skilled manpower in information technology in the country.
The current initiative will further enhance NIIT''s leadership position in the Asian IT training Industry. The partnership with Malaysian government follows close on the heels of the announcement of its expansion plans in Vietnam, the company said in the statement.
NIIT
is the first Indian IT training company to start operations in China and is today
the most
recognised Indian training brand in the country, the release added.
