Nissan launches mid-size sedan Sunny in India

Nissan Motor India Private Limited has launched the Sunny, a mid-sized sedan, with a starting price tag of Rs5.78 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi. The Sunny will be available in three trim levels - the XE, XL and XV.
The Sunny XE is priced at Rs5.78 lakh, the Sunny XL at Rs6.88 lakh and the Sunny XV at Rs7.68 lakh.
With five new models to be built at its Chennai plant, Nissan plans to ramp up sales in India to 1 lakh units by 2013.
The company also plans to expand its dealer network from its existing 45 dealers to 100 dealers by March 2013.
The Sunny is powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC petrol motor that produces 98 bhp@6000 rpm and 13.6 kgm@4000 rpm. With 5-speed manual gears, the Sunny is designed to deliver an ARAI certified 16.95 kmpl, says Nissan.
Like the Micra, the Sunny is also based on the V-platform and comes with features like keyless entry, start-stop button and automatic climate control, among others.
The key highlight of the car is its space and comfort. It has a boot volume of 490 litres.
