Philips branded Xenium series handsets introduced in India

In the backdrop of escalating global demand for mobile phones, consumer electronics maker Philips has launched five new handsets under its Xenium brand.

The dual-SIM handsets come with brand new features like 3-inch touchscreen and 5-mp autofocus camera with flash feature, and an impressively long battery life. The company said, users would be assured of a standby time of approximately 50 days and as much as 16 hours of talktime.
Xenium X806, the premier model of the series, features a 3-inch touch display with an expandable memory up to 8 GB and for the click happy, a 5-megapixel snapper is provided at the backside.

Though it may seem somewhat pricey at Rs 8,280, considering 8 hours of talktime and 1 month of standby it comes as a reasonable deal for buyers, according to industry experts.

Xenium X518 priced Rs5, 976 and Xenium X523 priced Rs4,992 are two models from the same series with Xenium X518, a touchscreen phone featuring a 2.8-inch display, 2-mp camera with flash and 16 GB expandable memory while Xenium X523 offering a 3.2-mp clicker with expandable memory upto 32 GB. The X523 offers an amazing standby time of 50 days and 16 hours of talktime while Xenium X518 offers 40 days of standby time and 12 hours of talktime.

Meanwhile, three more bar phones namely Xenium X513, X116 and X121 too have been launched for which users would have to shell out Rs 4, 776, Rs2, 760 and Rs1, 776, respectively. The three models from Philips feature LED torch, camera and an impressive 60 days of standby time.

According to Mobile Indian, the company would also launch an Android 2.3 and 3G smartphone in India by Diwali. The Android Gingerbread phone dubbed X726 and would come with dual SIM capabilities and a standby time of 40 days and 15 hours of talktime. The 3G phone aka X9320 would sport dual SIM's and camera and feature a 4.3 inch capacitive screen.
