PNB opens ‘Gen Next’ branch in Lucknow

Punjab National Bank (PNB), the country's second-largest public sector lender, has launched a new concept hi-tech banking format for the youth with the opening of its 'Gen Next' branch in Lucknow today.
The `Gen Next' branch will cater to tech-savvy customers with all available gadgets for banking operations, WIFI premises, cafeteria, books corner etc. The branch will be loaded with ATM, cheque deposit machine with provision for cash deposit, pass book printing machine etc.
It will also facilitate submission of loan applications online though a scanner.
''In the youth bulge economy, attracting young customer is the need of the hour and in order to do so, the Gen Next branch will provide Gen Next banking facilities,'' PNB chairman and managing director K R Kamath said while inaugurating the branch.
PNB is planning to set up five such branches across the country, Kamath said.
Earlier, Kamath distributed around 501 rickshaws to rickshaw pullers under the bank's financial inclusion programme.
