10 Jul 2009
Taking forward its retail expansion plan, Reliance Digital opened its second iStore in Mumbai today at the R City Centre Mall, Ghatkopar (W). The store forms part of the Apple Reseller Chain for high-end consumer durables and the IT consumer products arm of Reliance Retail.
Spread over 1,146 square feet, this is the tenth iStore in India which houses the entire range of Apple products including ipods, MacBooks, iMac, Mac Mini, Apple TV alongwith the latest software and accessories for both professional and consumer segments.
Inaugurating the store, Ajay Baijal, president and chief executive, Reliance Digital said, ''We are delighted to extend the Apple experience to our consumers in a world-class ambience. The store is designed to facilitate customers to touch, feel, try and buy.
''The scene has changed a lot from what it once was, for buying either a phone or television. Every individual wants his own ipod, iphone, or laptop. It has become an accessory – an extension of one's style and people are ready to spend on their style statement, making it affordable. Another noticeable change is that most of us carry our entertainment with us all the time.''
Baijal added that the inauguration of the store was done keeping in mind the festive season that is approaching, which begins from Ganesh Chaturti. Reliance's second iStore is at Mahalaxmi, Mumbai.
One of the interesting features of the store is 'iPromise', a training proposition of the store that enables consumers to optimise their Apple products after purchase. The facility helps one receive training on almost any application with the help of structured training modules.
The new store features an exclusive training room designed for customers. The store is offering an interesting inaugural offer - the first 25 customers buying a Mac, get a Samsung 22'' LCD TV worth Rs17,500 free. There are inaugural offers on ipods and Macs too.
At present, iStores are located in the following cities: Ghaziabad Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Ludhiana, Jaipur and Mumbai.
