Reliance MediaWorks' US arm ties up with Japan's Imagica

Reliance MediaWorks' US subsidiary Lowry Digital has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Imagica Corp for reinforcement of film archive service.
Under the MoU, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo-based Imagica Corp will provide digital restoration services to Lowry Digital's technology in Japan, Anil Arjun, CEO of Lowry Digital, said.
Lowry Digital has the world's top-level unique digital technology for film restoration and image enhancement, producing a lot of high-end imaging contents, said Aurora.
Lowry Digital has handled projects such as Akira Kurosawa's `Rashomon' (Japanese film), `The Star Wars Trilogy', `James Bond' series, 'The Godfather' - I and II, and Disney's films such the `Sleeping Beauty', etc and has a dominant presence in this area of service.
The need for clean-up and restoration of aged and deteriorated great pictures up close to be original, upscale resolution and convert from SD to HD for digital and terrestrial broadcasting is growing in Japan these days. Imagica is providing enhanced quality services to fill these demands with time-proven Lowry Digital, Aurora pointed out.
In addition, Imagica is going to expand versatile restoration services for aged films and tapes with group company Imagica West Corp.
