Mumbai: Delhi''s popular Sagar Ratna, the well-known restaurant chain, famous for speciality South Indian vegetarian cuisine, now spreads its wings to Mumbai by opening its first prestigious multi-cuisine restaurant in Mumbai at Fun Republic (www.fun-republic.com), the first young adult entertainment centre at Andheri.

Sagar Ratna is known for its most frequent visits by VVIPs, celebrities and people from all walks of life. It is not an exaggeration to mention that Indian president and prime minister were amongst the most frequented guests who had all praise for the Sagar Food and Sagar Culture in Delhi.

Says Silas Kapadia, business and Operations head, Fun Republic: "It''s our honour that Sagar Ratna decided to launch themselves in Mumbai through their first outlet at Fun Republic. I am sure that all Mumbaikars will definitely relish Sagar Ratna''s authentic taste of South Indian delicacies in the newly opened outlet at Fun Republic, Andheri."

Sagar Ratna is the brainchild of Jayaram Banan who started the first dream venture, at 18, at Defence Colony Market, New Delhi on 4 December 1986. Within a short span of time Sagar Ratna became a household name known for its mouth-watering dishes like onion, rava masala dosas, crispy vadas, spongy idlies and speciality sweet and salty dahi vadas, badam milk and many more snack varieties. Recently Sagar Ratna also introduced South Indian namkeens, which has been accepted whole-heartedly by its enthusiastic patrons.

With Banan''s vision the Sagar has grown manifold with 14 outlets in the capital and one in Karnataka and six franchise outlets in other parts of North India and one outlet in Ahmedabad. Sagar Ratna is also planning to open outlets in Dubai, the US, the UK and Singapore in the near future. Recently Franchise World also adjudged Sagar Ratna as the ''Best South Indian Restaurant Chain in Delhi''.
