Samsung Galaxy Tab launched in India

Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of its first tablet device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab in India.
India is one of the first three markets worldwide where the Galaxy tab, powered by the latest AndroidÔ operating system 2.2, is being launched.
Samsung Galaxy Tab comes with a seven-inch TFT-LCD display, allows creation of and editing of all Office documents like Word, Excel and Powerpoint, social networking, access to more than 100,000 Android market applications besides customised applications for Indian users on the Samsung App store.
It is equipped with an e-reading application, location based services through a free MapmyIndia navigation package, Google Maps, 3MP AF camera, 'social hub' feature that integrates and consolidates all social networking sites, e-mail and contact info, Flash 10.1 player and other features.
Priced at Rs38,000, Galaxy Tab also comes with 16GB memory expandable upto 32 GB, 4000mAH battery and a range of accessories like desktop and keyboard dock, car mount, car charger, detachable travel charger and others.
Pre-bookings for the handset have begun from today and the fulfillment of orders and the sales will commence from 10 November, the company said in a statement.
''Leading Indian operators like Airtel , Aircel , Vodafone , Tata DOCOMO and RCom will be announcing very exciting offers and data plans with the Galaxy tab , when we commence sales of the Galaxy tab,'' said Ranjit Yadav , director, mobile and IT.
