SBI plans Home Fin revival

Bank of India (SBI) is planning to prepare
a revival package for SBI Home Finance, in which it has a majority
stake. A final decision about the issue will be taken in few
months.
SBI chairman Janki Ballabh, while talking to presspersons in
Kolkata on 15 January, said there were lots of apprehensions on
the future of SBI Home Finance because of certain unsubstantiated
reports in some sections of the media, which talked about the
companys closure. "But let me clarify that we havent
taken any decision on this subject."
SBI, he said, is considering preparing a revival package for SBI
Home Finance. He, however, refused to comment
whether SBI would infuse fresh funds into the ailing company.
"A final decision will be taken in the beginning of the next
financial year."
