Sify launches cloud service platform for the consumer
03 Jul 2010
Internet service firm Sify Technologies today announced the launch of a cloud service platform - Sify mylife - that enables customers pay their utility bills, book tickets and take up online tests while letting cyber café owners enhance their revenues.
Nasdaq-listed Sify Technologies expects the new platform to arrest the closure of its franchisee-owned cyber cafes owing to increased costs.
"The 'Sify mylife' platform enables a cyber cafe owner to increase his revenue - online and off-line. The cafe owner can earn by offering online services - ticket booking, payment of utility bills, education courses and other services offered by us," chairman and managing director of the company Raju Vegesna said.
The cloud services platform would offer these services to Sify iWays (cyber cafes) as well as its broadband customers, he said.
He said Sify currently offers this service in 1,200 outlets and targets to offer these services in all its 1.6 lakh cyber cafes across the country.
"Sify mylife will bring a high-end digital lifestyle encompassing communication, education, travel, entertainment and utility to your doorsteps - all of this being provided with enhanced security."
