In a Friday blog post Sony said it was considering how to "show appreciation" for its customers' patience in dealing with the continuing PlayStation Network outage.

According to Sony Online Entertainment, it would hold "special events" for subscribers to its "DC Universe Online" and "Free Realms" massively multiplayer online games.

Sony's online network has been down since 20 April, when an external intrusion forced the company to take down the PlayStation Network and the related Qriocity cloud music service.

Sony is facing legal action over hack, on allegations that the company failed to adequately protect, encrypt, and secure its customer data.

The suit seeks damages from Sony for the data loss and PlayStation Network downtime.

According to analysts, Sony's blog post which addressed what would happen to happen to customer's saved games, data, and other aspects of game play may have come in the context of the damages being sought for loss of data.

They say possibly the most interesting bit of information is about Sony evaluating ways to show appreciation for users' patience as it was working to get the service back online.
