Tata Communications yesterday announced its plans to acquire British Telecom Group plc's Mosaic business, BT Media and Broadcast, an on-demand digital media management platform, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition would enable Tata Communications to expand in the media and entertainment sector.
London-based BT Media and Broadcast, also known as BT's Mosaic business, is a media production, broadcast and distribution company, which has been providing business media solutions for over 50 years to its customers spread across all over the world.
With its service-oriented architecture, BT Media and Broadcast helps media customers improve cross-enterprise content creation, management and multi-format delivery and enables enterprises to deliver services that meet rapidly changing consumer demands, maintain and expand audience numbers and lower production costs.
Its services serve the entire spectrum of media customers encompassing production houses, emerging digital media publishers, content service providers, and TV channels.
BT Media and Broadcast had entered into two new agreements last year with India's largest private producer of current affairs and news television and general entertainment television New Delhi-based NDTV to be its global network supplier to enable NDTV to distribute NDTV Good Times and NDTV Profit.
