Tata Consultancy Services to hire 9,000 new employees before December

India''s top software services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will add around 9,000 new employees between October and December 2007.

Executive director for human resources S Padmanabhan told the media that the company''s plans to hire 35,000 new employees for the financial year ending 31 March 2008 was right on track.

TCS, part of India''s largest industrial conglomerate the Tata Group, posted a better-than-forecast 26 per cent increase in quarterly profits to Rs1247 crore ($317 million) despite a falling dollar, as it won large new outsourcing deals and raised its charges for customers.
