Tata Motors June sales up 49 per cent at 67,730 vehicles

Total sales of commercial and passenger vehicles (including exports) of Tata Motors rose 49 per cent year-on-year to 67,730 in June, from over 45,440 vehicles sold in June 2009.
The company's domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles rose 45 per cent at 62,602 units in June 2010 against 43,284 units sold in June last year.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal rose 48 per cent to 181,708 units, against 123,114 units sold in the same period last year.
Domestic sales of commercial vehicle in June 2010 rose 33 per cent to 34,791 units compared with 26,245 vehicles sold in June last year. LCV sales rose 21 per cent to 19,652 units over June last year. M&HCV sales rose 52 per cent to 15,139 units over June last year.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal rose 35 per cent to 97,229 units year-on-year while cumulative LCV sales rose 21 per cent to 55,073 units and M&HCV sales rose 58 per cent to 42,156 units year-on-year.
The passenger vehicles business reported a 53 per cent rise in total sale and distribution offtake at 29,948 units (27,811 Tata + 2,137 Fiat) in the domestic market in June 2010 compared with 19,513 units (17,039 Tata + 2,474 Fiat) in June last year. Sales of Tata passenger vehicles rose 63 per cent to 27,811 units. Tata Nano sold 7,704 units. The Indica range sales were 12 per cent lower at 9,003 units. The Indigo range recorded sales of 7,502 units, a growth of 113 per cent over June last year. The Sumo/Safari range accounted for sales of 3,602 units, higher by 9 per cent over June last year.
Jaguar Land Rover sales continued their upward trend since launch in June 2009.
