Tata Motors slashes Indica prices with launch of refreshed versions

Tata Motors, the country's largest automobile manufacturer, has slashed the prices of its small car Indica eV2 by Rs23,000 with the launch of a refreshed version that also has spruced up interiors and new-look exteriors.
The Indica eV2 is priced at Rs4,01,162 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant and going upto Rs487,619 for the top-end models. The eV2 is available in three variants -- eV2 LE (base model), eV2 LS and eV2 LX (top-end variant).
The Indica range had posted sales of 7,936 units, down 22.82 per cent, in September, compared with 10,282 units in the year-ago period.
Equipped with a CR4 Common Rail Diesel engine, the Tata Indica eV2 has a displacement of 1396 cc, delivering 70 PS @ 4000 RPM.
The Indica eV2 has a mileage of 25 kilometre per litre (Automotive Research Association of India certified) and is the most fuel-efficient car in its class. The car is also available in petrol version (with an MPFI engine) and both engines are compliant with BS4 emission norms.
The enhanced its exterior with new headlamps, front bumper, grille and a sporty rear spoiler with integrated stop lamp.
The interior has been spruced up with large seats, wood finish centre console and host of other features like power windows, keyless entry, Bluetooth-enabled music system, 4 spoke collapsible steering wheel, tachometer, and front and rear fog lamps among others.
Tata Motors is offering a warranty of 24 months or 75,000 kms, whichever is earlier.
