Tata Motors yesterday launched the Tata Aria, the first Indian four-wheel drive crossover, that blends the grace of a sedan with muscle of an SUV in Tamil Nadu and Kerala markets.

The Tata Aria sets several new benchmarks with its design and technologies, features that lead in its class. The vehicle offers features that add a new dimension to safety and comfort.

The vehicle's selectable 4x4 drive is equipped with a 'torque-on-demand' system which significantly enhances its all-terrain capabilities and is the first in its segment with an In-dash GPS-based Navigation System. The vehicle also counts among those rare cars in India that come with advanced safety features like the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), which ensures the car's stability, and six airbags to ensure safety in emergency situations.

The Aria styling is a unique synthesis of bold proportions, fine lines and uncompromising aesthetics. The aggressive well positioned stance is tempered by a surging silhouette and a dynamic roofline.

Passengers need to simple walk into the Aria, rather than having to climbing up or getting into the cabin. The three-row theatre style flexible seating makes for ample space, and like the driver's and the front passenger seat, the second row seats can also slide fore and aft to make for greater legroom. Both the second row and third row seats can collapse fully to make the car even roomier for accessories and luggage for a weekend sojourn.

The driver's seat is height-adjustable with a tilt adjustable steering to help configure the most comfortable driving position. The car relieves the driver of much of hassle in parking and there is no need to look back even while parking as a Reverse Guide Camera helps to back the car with pin point accuracy.

Meanwhile,  Tata Motors yesterday said it would consider exporting the Aria.
