The Tata Group is planning to launch its benchmark low-cost housing project, which started with the integrated township under construction in Boisar, a Mumbai suburb, worldwide.
Tata Housing Development Company Ltd, which unveiled 'Shubh Griha', the first pan-Indian brand in Boisar, near Mumbai, said it would offer `Smart, Value Homes' to people across India, to begin with.
The Tata Group, the first corporate to enter the low-cost housing segment, said 'Shubh Griha' would follow its launch in Boisar by a pan-Indian presence across Tier I and II cities.
The `Smart Value Homes' from Shubh Griha in Boisar were priced between Rs3.9 lakh and Rs6.7 lakh.
The affordable housing projects launched by Tatas near Mumbai would be extended to more cities since the concept had evinced keen interest from all parts of the country, Tata group chairman Ratan Tata said in Munnar, in Kerala today.
Ratan Tata, who was in Munnar to attend the silver jubilee of High Range School run by the company, said the group plans to launch housing projects in Kolkata and Bangalore in the next phase.
