TCS has signed a five-year contract with du, the integrated telecom provider in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for providing IT managed services.
As its IT managed services partner, TCS will support du to enhance its customer services by achieving excellence in service delivery levels.
The agreement will supplement du's efforts to achieve better customer satisfaction levels through improvements in service delivery, TCS said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The UAE telecom provider is also looking at developing customer-centric products to widen market share, TCS said.
"In a dynamic business sector such as telecom, we are constantly looking at enhancing customer experience - made possible by further enhancing our IT operations. With TCS' capabilities, we expect to further streamline our efficiencies in service delivery, quality of service as well as bringing best practices in IT operations," said Fahad Al Hassawi, chief human resource and shared services officer of du.
"We are delighted to be chosen as a strategic partner to du. With our strong global telecom expertise, we are committed to delivering service improvement, flexibility and predictability to du's IT, which will support du's progressive strategy to enhance customer experience," said Girish Ramachandran, VP and head, Middle East, Africa and Mediterranean of TCS.
TCS started its Middle East operations as far back as in 1973 and, as of now, a significant part of the company's revenue comes from that part of the world, TCS said, adding that currently its consultants are working in nearly 12 countries in the MEA region across various client locations.
An integrated telecom service provider offering internet and pay TV services besides voice telephony, du had over 4 million users by the end of 2010
