Telecom Fiji in multi-million dollar deal with Tech Mahindra to provide Global ICT services

Mumbai: Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL) has signed a 15-month multi-million dollar deal to transform its open source software (OSS) and business support systems (BSS) commercial, off-the-shelf  (COTS) domain with India's sixth largest software exporter, Tech Mahindra.

Telecom Fiji is a fully owned subsidiary of the Amalgamated Telecom Holdings (ATH) Group of Companies and is listed under the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPSE).

Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL) is the sole national provider of local and national (trunk) fixed and fixed wireless telephony, data, internet, VSAT, VoIP, IP, prepaid calling card services and customer premises equipment supplier, with annual revenues of approx $84 million and comprises of four subsidiaries; Connect offering broadband services and Internet, portal services under the ConnecMe brand; Transtel offering prepaid calling and transaction capability under ''Yehdo'' brand; and Xceed offering B2B Solutions and managed services.

Under this agreement, Tech Mahindra will set up transformation office, business process rationalisation on eTOM framework, implementation of OSS and business support systems BSS commercial, off-the-shelf  COTS encompassing order management, service provisioning, network and service assurance, billing, alarm management and performance management.

Engagements in the APAC region are an integral part of Tech Mahindra's business expansion strategy, which the deal with Telecom Fiji strengthens; the company already has existing operations in Australia and New Zealand, which contribute aproximately 50 per cent of revenue within the APAC region.

"We are also exploring possibilities of leveraging on each others strengths to work together as global services partners for providing ICT services within Oceania region to our enterprise customers," said Taito Tabaleka, CEO Telecom Fiji.

Our support will enable them to adapt to changing market conditions and increase speed-to-market of new and innovative offerings for their customers."

 Telecom Fiji Limited has been in existence for over 50 years being the incumbent telecommunications provider in Fiji. Telecom Fiji offers limited  mobility on CDMA platform, Broadband Internet & High End B2B solutions like leased circuits, EPBAX, VPN's etc in Fiji. The TFL network consists of 55 telephone exchanges throughout Fiji and Rotuma.
