Mumbai: Thakral Digital will launch two new products at the Broadcast India 2002 that heralds the next generation in digital surveillance technology: the Thakral AVE1000S Series and AVE2000X Series DVR Hardware Compression cards.
The AVE1000S series is one if the industry’s first DVR card using enhanced MPEG-1 Hardware compression which utilises very high-compression ratios (similar to MPEG-4 compression rate) to reduce storage space requirements while maintaining high video quality and transmission frame rates. The AVE1000S series is ideal for a wide range of applications, particularly remote surveillance over the Internet, LAN, and wireless networks among others.
The AVE2000X series is the latest in Thakral’s range of successful MPEG-1 Hardware compression DVR cards. It offers 1-8 independent audio / video channels capable of simultaneous preview and recording at full-frame rates. The AVE2000X series offers an ideal solution for PC-based surveillance systems that require a large number of camera installations.
These two products are the latest in an extensive range of DVR cards from Thakral to cater to different segments of the market. The cards come in 1, 2, 4 and 8 channels configuration with audio / video (AVE2000X series) or video only (AVE1000S series) hardware compression. Some of the advanced features of the cards include real-time preview and compression, onboard alarms, self-adapting bit rate control and PCI Bus Master mode data transfer.
Thakral Digital spokesman Simon Wong says they are here in India to expand their success story in China and other markets in Asia. “The reason for our success in China is the unique technology we use to develop our products which is purely hardware-based and software-independent. This approach enables us to provide a very stable backbone for digital video recording solutions.”
A growing number of security solutions providers in China and the Asia Pacific have partnered with Thakral to provide digital surveillance solutions based on Thakral DVR cards. Adds Wong: “We look forward to meeting and partnering with security solution developers in India to build DVR solutions. We are also on the look out for distributors and resellers to sell and support our DVR solutions as well.”
Thakral Digital is a leading DVR manufacturer with its own in-house R&D to continually harness the latest technologies to meet the security needs of its customers. Thakral is the market leader in China with installations at Shanghai mint, Hong Kong Immigration and several other government and private establishments.
