The Times of India's “Lead India” campaign wins Grand Prix for JWT India at Goafest 2008

Goa: The Times of India's ''Lead India'' campaign, which sought to seek out tomorrow's leaders out of ''common'' Indians, won the prestigious Grand Prix for JWT India as the integrated campaign of the year at function here on Sunday at the 41st Abby Awards.
The Abby awards, comprising five Grands Prix awards, recognise excellence in creativity and celebrate Indian advertising.
The creative mind behind the Lead India ad campaign was JWT chief creative officer Agnello Dias, who initially doubted the campaign, and admitted bring afraid that it could get them into trouble, as the campaign exposed politicians, corruption, and loopholes in the system.
However, the support the campaign generated clinched the Grand Prix for the agency, winning the gold in the integrated campaign category, and a bronze medal each in the print, film and direct categories.
Mudra Communications won a Grand Prix in the Radio: Household products and maintenance category. Nirvana Films won the Grand Prix for film craft in the direction category.
Other winners of the evening were Leo Burnett India, winning two Grands Prix in the household products and maintenance category, in the out-of-home and print single categories.
