Toshiba (India) on Tuesday announced the launch of Satellite M500, the latest in its premier series of notebook computers. The Satellite M500 is being sold as a feature-packed laptop for users who require performance and portability. It is targeted at home and office users as well as casual gamers.
Priced at around Rs53,500, the Satellite M500 boasts classy 'champagne gold patterns' on the lid, while the LCD cover is designed using 'in-mould rolling' technology.
More importantly, the Satellite M500 series doesn't limit you to Wi-Fi hotspots for connectivity. Integrated 3G broadband on these notebooks lets you access the internet using your carrier's broadband network, wherever you can make a cell phone call.
The Satellite M500 offers also a touchpad with multi-touch control, which gives users the ability to pinch, swipe, rotate or scroll through images on the display with a brush of your fingers.
With support for full 1080p high-definition video and sound, the HDMI-CEC connection on these laptops lets you scale up your movies, music and games by tapping into a home theatre, and run the show with just a single remote control.
The Satellite M500 comes with 4GB DDR2 800MHz memory, 320GB HDD 5400 RPM storage and dual-layer DVD-SuperMulti optical drive. Pre-loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1, 64-bit), Satellite M500 features a hard drive 3D motion sensor which shuts it off in case of free fall, shock or vibrations.
