Toyota Kirloskar Best Supplier Silver Award for Sona Koyo

Bangalore: Sona Koyo Steering Systems (SKSS), among the largest manufacturer of steering gears in India, has received the prestigious Toyota Kirloskar Best Supplier Silver Award.
SKSS chairman and managing director CMD Surinder Kapur received the award from Akira Okabe, director, Toyota Motor Corporation, and chairman, Toyota Kirloskar Motors, in a ceremony in Bangalore. The silver award is given to the supplier who scores the second-highest total score in the criteria laid down by Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM).
The critical selection criteria in this category were based on the parameters of quality performance, cost-reduction, delivery, production preparation, management attitude and other smaller items.
SKSS supplies the manual and power steering gears to TKM. Says Kapur: "TKM's appreciation through the Silver Award is an encouragement for Sona Koyo to scale higher peaks of customer delight."
SKSS is a technical and financial joint venture between Koyo Seiko Co, Japan and the Sona group. SKSS's product range includes hydraulic power-steering systems, manual rack and pinion steering systems, collapsible, tilt and rigid steering columns for passenger vans and multi-utility vehicles. The company also makes rear-axle assemblies and propeller shafts.
SKSS's illustrious customers include Maruti Udyog, Hyundai Motors India, Hindustan Motors, Telco and Mahindra & Mahindra. Sona Group was established in 1987 to manufacture auto components for the Indian automotive market.
