Unconfirmed reports claim Windows 8 to release in 2012

Even as it celebrates the completion of one successful year for Windows 7, Microsoft's Dutch website accidentally published a paragraph on Sunday that suggested work on Windows 8 was underway. However, it indicated the project was about two years out from completion, set for late 2012.
Speaking at the Gartner Symposium a few days ago, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer parried a series of questions in which he identified the next release of the Windows as Microsoft's riskiest bet apart from cloud computing.
According to analysts that should be right. They add with given Windows 7 was nothing revolutionary but which still managed to make up for Vista's lacklustre show, the next release of Windows has to have a lot of goodies packed in and that explains the extended time frame for the release.
According to some industry experts Windows 8 promises to bring some of the biggest changes for Windows yet, from an app store to faster boot times and facial recognition.
App Store
They say though Microsoft has said very little about Windows 8 also known as vNext, from a handful of leaks and small comments,
Windows 8 will feature an App Store to save users the time and effort of trips to the store.
They say Windows 8 will come with ''Windows Store'' following Apple which is now leading the charge on the desktop with an app store for OS X promised in the coming months.
