New Delhi: Veritas Software Corporation (www.veritas.com), the leading storage software provider, has announced the availability of Veritas Storage Foundation 4.0 for Windows, storage management and virtualisation software that integrates with Microsoft platforms to flexibly manage storage in windows environments.
An option to Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows, Veritas FlashSnap is a software-based snapshot solution that leverages Microsoft's Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), a Windows Server 2003-based technology that enables Microsoft-supported snapshots of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 for quick-recovery and high-performance backups and restores.
Veritas FlashSnap also provides off-host processing for testing, data analysis and reporting. Through the Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows Dynamic Multipathing Option, Veritas supports the largest breadth of heterogeneous storage arrays of any Microsoft partner — from low-end disk to high-end arrays.
"With the release of Veritas Storage Foundation 4.0 for Windows, industry leaders Microsoft and Veritas continue to work together, providing robust enterprise storage support for Windows environments," says Zane Adam, the director of product management and marketing for the enterprise storage division at Microsoft. "Together, Microsoft and Veritas provide customers with constant data availability, which is the foundation for any enterprise storage strategy on the Windows platform."
