Voltas bags Rs495 crore Bahrain project

The project, to be completed by June 2008, will employ over 1,500 workers. One third of the work force for the BD40 million (Rs495 crore approx) project will be from India and the remaining will be deployed by various sub-contractors, the company said.
This is the company's third major project in Bahrain. The company had carried out electro-mechanical work worth BD10 million (Rs129 crore approx) for the Bahrain International Airport in three phases during 1988-1996. Voltas also completed another project worth BD1.5 million (Rs18.6 crore approx) for Seef Mall for Bemco, Voltas' joint venture with another Bahraini firm.
Voltas offers engineering solutions for a wide spectrum of industries in areas such as heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, refrigeration, electro-mechanical projects, textile machinery, machine tools, mining and construction equipment, materials handling, water management, building management systems, indoor air quality and chemicals.
Over the years, Voltas has actively been engaged in turnkey projects in fields such as electro-mechanical works comprising electrical building services, HVAC, plumbing, public Health, fire fighting, ELV & specialised systems; electrical power projects; environmental and water pollution control; pumping stations and water supply; water and waste water treatment projects.
The company has successfully undertaken and executed project works in the Far East and South East Asia, CIS countries and Africa as well.
