Volvo Auto India is set to launch its Volvo XC60 in the compact luxury SUV segment.
''Volvo XC60 has received high appreciation across the world since its introduction because of its unparallel driving pleasure, contemporary styling, and advanced technological features. It has a sporty and dynamic exterior styling with soothing interior design,'' said Paul de Voijs, managing director, Volvo Auto India.
Volvo XC60 features a D5 diesel engine that delivers 205 hp and 420 Nm. The company claims that the twin turbo and peizo high-pressure technology is high on performance and low on fuel consumption.
The maintenance free diesel particulate filter reduces soot particles in exhaust gases and advanced emission control contributes to low nitrogen oxide level, the company said in a statement.
XC60 model also comes with laser and camera assisted automatic braking, hill descent control, active bending lights, power tailgate, roll stability control, advanced breaking and safety technologies.
The Swedish brand had forayed into India just over three years ago and has a corporate office in Gurgaon. Currently it markets its products through its dealerships in New Delhi, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi and Pune with Ahmedabad in the pipeline.
Volvo currently sells two premium models in India, the luxury SUV Volvo XC90 and luxury sedan Volvo S80.
