Waterbase moving up the value ladder

The Thapar group's fisheries company Waterbase Ltd is planning to move downstream in its operations. Among the products on the company's menu: prawn curry, and prawn and crab cakes. These products will be exported to the US market.
Waterbase is considering tying up with an American company that could sell the prawn and other producs in the US under the US company's brand name.
Some horizontal integration is also on the cards. The company, which currently produces prawn feed and seeds, may soon start making chicken-feed and pig-feed.
