IT software services and consulting firm Wipro has teamed up with Qatar Airways to launch a range of products that would help the aviation industry enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
The aviation IT product portfolio comprises two categories of solutions - enterprise solutions that include products for crew management, route profitability analysis, loyalty management, inflight catering, aircraft maintenance planning and crisis management and mobility solutions that include products for pilots, cabin crew and flight dispatchers.
The extensive product range aims to address critical airline business functions, which have a direct bearing on service quality, operational efficiency and strategic decision making, providing a competitive advantage to a user airline, Wipro said in a release.
The products have features that compliment open technology platforms and are functionally rich and user-friendly, it added.
Wipro said the products have been developed through an year-long strategic partnership with Qatar Airways for research and development of the portfolio by bringing together Wipro's expertise in application management and support, and Qatar Airways' aviation systems' expertise.
"These solutions have played a key role in enhancing customer service and operational efficiency of Qatar Airways," said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways. "Now these already proven solutions can be brought to market and deployed in a variety of means such as licensing or software as a service."
Anand Sankaran, senior vice president and business head of Wipro Infotech's global infrastructure services, said, "We are developing new IPs with Qatar Airways, which will augment our available suite of solutions. This is a very unique partnership with Qatar Airways where we are marketing their existing software products and leveraging the core competencies of both organizations to create tangible value to other airlines."
Srini Pallia, senior vice president and global head of RCTG, Wipro Ltd, said, the transportation sector and, more specifically, the airline industry has been a focus area for Wipro.
''We have been leveraging our capabilities in mobility, cloud infrastructure, analytics, airline domain competency and BPO to offer best in class services to the global airline industry,'' he said.
Wipro said the products are designed to enhance the operations of airlines and other aviation related companies across the board and are available for immediate licensing and implementation worldwide.
Doha-based Qatar Airways is one of the world's fastest growing carriers, with a modern fleet of 129 aircraft, flying to 129 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
