ISRO postpones Friday’s IRNSS-1C launch by a week
06 Oct 2014
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) today announced a postponement of its third navigational satellite IRNSS-1C, which was scheduled for 10 October.
IRNSS 1C is the third satellite in the series of seven to put in place India's own navigation system, which is on par with US' Global Positioning System.
"PSLV C26/ IRNSS-1C launch, scheduled on Oct 10, 2014 is postponed. New date will be announced soon," ISRO said in a brief announcement on its web site.
In a posting on its Facebook page, ISRO said: "Due to an observation in the telemetry system, the launch has been postponed for a week."
The Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System-1C (IRNSS-1C) was to be launched by India's own Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) in the early hours of 10 October.
The space agency also began its launch rehearsal on Sunday at its launch centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
