12 Feb 2009
Mumbai: Infosys Technologies Ltd today said it had successfully completed an IT enabled end-to-end business transformation program for Pune-based energy and environment engineering firm Thermax.
The program addresses complex business requirements in the environmental solutions (Enviro) and water and waste management solutions (WWS) divisions of Thermax, across supply chain management, distribution, financial and customer relationship management functions. The programme also meets India-specific legal and statutory requirements.
S Gopalakrishnan, CEO and MD, Infosys Technologies, said, ''The programme with Thermax is the first end-to-end IT Enabled business transformation programme on Oracle e-business suite in the Indian market. The successful completion of the project serves as the foundation for building India localization product competency and business process knowledge.''
The programme has enhanced Thermax's business operations by enabling a single data view for efficient decision making, and facilitated greater productivity through leaner business processes. This programme will also enable quicker transaction turnaround for Thermax – including faster customer invoicing, order execution, inventory management and planning and purchasing.
''We, at Thermax, as part of our business integration plan, are unifying our operations under a singular ERP platform, said Thermax managing director M S Unnikrishnan.
He asid, "Even though this would be Infosys' first Oracle implementation in India, we chose Infosys to partner us because of the faith and respect we have in the brand. They have certainly proved us right with their passion, involvement and professional approach, completing the project within our time schedule. Infosys has also added value to the processes at Thermax. We are very pleased with the outcome of our relationship with Infosys and would look forward to strengthening our relationship further.''
