OnMobile- BIG FM tie-up to launch radio channels on mobile platform

Leading private FM service provider and Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) group company, 92.7 BIG FM a leading player in the value added services (VAS) space has tied up with OnMobile to launch BIG Mobile Radio.
With the new service, mobile subscribers would be able to access 17 multi-lingual radio channels across India and international markets including Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
The service expands the reach of BIG FM from 45 cities to over 4,500 cities and towns including rural areas. The services launched on the mobile platform would be offered in an ad-free format.
In addition to reaching a new audience, the service would allow users to listen to their favourite programmed channels regardless of their location and what this means is that for instance, even Tamil listeners in Mumbai would be able to listen to native-language programming on Big Mobile Radio.
Subscribers would be able to select from content categories like songs, Bollywood entertainment, jock talk, humour, health tips, etc.

Sanjay Uppal, president and COO, OnMobile, said using its innovations in technology the company was happy to re-shape the radio medium from being a city-centred service to a global service accessible on any mobile. He added that OnMobile was ushering in a new experience by removing the geographic barriers to accessing content.
According to the alliance it would disclose the names of operators for the tie-up soon.
