Apple will be not be amused that its hot new iPad tablet that sold 3 million over its launch week end, has seen complaints pouring in over the device becoming too hot during use.
Users and technology equipment review sites said that the newest iPad, just released on 16 March, was becoming physically hot to the touch during use, specifically in the lower lefthand corner.
Die-hard Apple fans were not happy at the company's response to the complaints, which said in short statement, ''The new iPad delivers a stunning Retina display, A5X chip, support for 4G LTE plus 10 hours of battery life, all while operating well within our thermal specifications. If customers have any concerns they should contact AppleCare.''
PConsumer Reports, a group that reviews everything from electronics to cars, which had earlier pointed out the faulty antennae on the iPhone 4, published its recent findings of the new iPad heating problems in a blog post and said that the new device gets hotter by 13 degrees than the older version iPad 2 when playing the graphics-heavy Infinity Blade II game.
Dutch blog Tweakers.net had also found similar problem and said in a report that using a thermal imaging camera it found out that while playing an intense action game, the new iPad was hotter by 10 degrees than the iPad 2 under similar conditions.
But Consumer Reports writer Donna Tapelenni said in a blog that though the new iPad temparuture was 116 degrees Fahrenheit, "the heat is of no cause of concern, '' "During our tests, I held the new iPad in my hands……when it was at its hottest, it felt very warm but not especially uncomfortable if held for a brief period."
