Apple cuts price of 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro by Rs11,000

Tech giant Apple today cut the price of its 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro by Rs 11,000 to Rs78,900.
The California-headquartered firm also updated MacBook Pro with Retina display with faster display, doubling the memory in both its entry-level configurations.
MacBook Pro with Retina display makes for stunning high-resolution images, with an amazing design a mere 0.71-inches in thickness, the latest processors in addition to powerful graphics and up to nine hours of battery life, Apple said in a statement.
"Apple today also lowered the starting price of the non-Retina 13-inch MacBook Pro, a very popular system with Windows switchers, by Rs11,000 to Rs 78,900," it added.
The 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro comes with a 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1 GHz, 4 GB of memory, Intel HD Graphics 4000 and a 500 GB hard drive starting at Rs78,900 inclusive of VAT (Rs 75,000 excluding VAT).
A number models of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display are available in the price range of Rs94,900-1,29,900 including VAT.
Furthermore, the models of 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display are available in the range of Rs1,44,900-1,79,900 including VAT charges.
Meanwhile Digit said in the company had discreetly updated its Macbook Pro Lineup with some minor changes to specifications across both the 13 inch as well as the 15 inch models.
Both the new 13 inch models with 2.4GHz Intel i5 chip had been updated with 2.6 GHz intel i5 chip with 8 GB of RAM rather than 4 GB, with the processor on the new 15 inch Macbook Pro also getting an update from the old 2.0 GHz Intel i7 chip to a 2.2 GHz Intel i7 chip. RAM on the new Macbook Pro 15 inch too had been changed from a 1600 MHz 8 GB one to 16GB.
The company last October, made a number of changes to the 13 inch Macbook Pro in an update that added the Haswell chips and Iris graphics to both the models. Apple also added 802.11ac WiFi, Thunderbolt 2 ports as also a faster PCI storage in that update.
The new models come only a few months ahead of the next version of the Mac OS X update "Yosemite" which was announced this year at WWDC 2014, with the Yosemite BETA releasing to a million developers earlier this week.
