Images suggest slimmer, smaller battery for iPhone 7

A recent set of leaked images have revealed what is claimed to be the battery to power the upcoming Apple iPhone 7, suggesting a possible larger battery capacity, in a slimmer and smaller version.
A MacRumors report featured a set of images from a Chinese source of what was allegedly the battery that would be used for the upcoming iPhone 7.
The battery has a watt-hour capacity of 7.04 watt-hours (Whr), which was larger in Whr capacity than the iPhone 6 and was slightly ahead of the battery of the iPhone 6s. The iPhone 6 features a battery of 6.61 Whr, while the iPhone 6s had a 7.01 Whr battery.
The images, however, did not show the battery voltage information, which meant the exact charge capacity could not be determined. However, it was expected to be something similar to the battery of the iPhone 6s.
According to commentators, given that the battery shown in the leaked images appeared thinner than previous ones, earlier rumors that pointed to a slimmer iPhone being worked on by Apple seemed to have been more plausible.
While Apple was to still make any announcement regarding its upcoming new iteration of its flagship smartphone, the rumored specs for the device included a faster Apple A10 chipset, Smart Connectors which would give way to external accessories for the device, internal storage capacity of up to 256 GB worth, and stereo speakers.
The next-gen iPhone 7 seems to be the favoured child of leaks and rumours. Close on the heels of the leak reported a few days ago about the dual-camera module for the alleged iPhone 7 Plus, details on the battery of the impending iPhone 7 have surfaced online.
Meanwhile, rumours had been rife about the iPhone7 and its bigger version, the iPhone 7 Plus being sleeker than the current iPhones.
The iPhone 7 is expected to be 1mm slimmer than the iPhone 6s, and according to experts, Apple could possibly be looking at eliminating the headphone jack, as also reducing the extra space near the Lightning port to accommodate a robust battery that was of similar size to that touted by the iPhone 6.
