iPhoneX ‘bridegroom’ rides horse, takes band to Thane store

The iPhone X, one of Apple's most anticipated products, is certainly a hit in India, having sold out in minutes after pre-bookings opened last week despite its steep price tag of Rs89,000-Rs1,02,000.
Many who didn't make the booking cut reportedly offered to pay extra for the phone. But one man from Naupada in Thane district took his purchase fanfare to unprecedented levels.
Astride a horse, Mahesh Pallival had a procession and a band follow him with trumpets and drums, and a person holding a placard that read 'I love iPhone X', as he went to receive his phone at 6:30 pm at a store in Thane's Hariniwas Circle on Friday, in a show that resembled an Indian marriage procession.
He even received his iPhone X sitting on the horse from the store's owner Ashish Thakker.
The tenth anniversary iPhone, the iPhone X is the biggest update to Apple's smartphones since the introduction of the original iPhone in 2007, with a striking bezel-less design, future-forward artificial intelligence features, a flowing edge-to-edge OLED display and Face ID. Apple fans all over the world are clamouring to get their hands on the device.
While companies like Samsung and LG have already embraced no-bezel phones, Apple just joined the bandwagon of all-screen and no bezel phones. The iPhone X also marks an important milestone in the history of Apple. Pronounced iPhone Ten, commemorates 10 years of the iPhone.
"For more than a decade, our intention has been to create an iPhone that is all display. The iPhone X is the realisation of that vision," Jony Ive, Apple's chief design officer said while launching the iPhone X in September. "With the introduction of iPhone ten years ago, we revolutionised the mobile phone with Multi-Touch. iPhone X marks a new era for iPhone - one in which the device disappears into the experience."
At least for Pallival, it seems like it is special indeed. (See: Apple iPhone X put up for pre-orders, sold out in minutes).
