Dheeraj Hinduja elevated as vice chairman of Ashok Leyland

Chennai: The board of directors of Ashok Leyland has elected Dheeraj G Hinduja as vice-chairman. Hinduja has been a board member since 1996.

Reiterating the group's vision for its flagship company to grow rapidly as a serious global player, Hinduja stated that multiple actions are on currently to strengthen the research and development infrastructure, talent pool and capabilities of the company.

"Besides an unprecedented focus on exports, including exploration of new markets, Ashok Leyland will utilise both organic and inorganic growth options," he says. "In response to a sustained high domestic demand, we are also looking at capacity expansion and will take a cue from the market situation during the rest of the current fiscal."

A BSc Hons from University College, London, Hinduja did his MBA with specialisation in project management from Imperial College, University of London. Since 1994, Hinduja has been involved in the development and management of various global business interests of the Hinduja group.
