Bajaj Auto launches new Discover 150 for Rs46,000

Mumbai: Riding high on the success of 100cc Discover DTS-Si, Bajaj Auto today launched the new Discover 150 and to strengthen its presence in commuter segment.

Promising ''more excitement per litre'', Bajaj Auto said that the Discover 150 was the first bike in the 'commuter sports' segment which offers the utility of a commuter bike combined with the performance, style and features of a sports bike to bring in a renewed passion for biking.

The new 150cc 13 PS DTS-i delivers strong power and pickup along with on-road mileage of 65kmpl, offered usually by most of the smaller 100cc bikes.

The new Discover 150cc has also been loaded with features such as 5 speed gear-box, electric start as a standard feature, Nitrox suspension, disc-brakes and wider-rear tyres for better road grip and adheres to BS-III emission norms.

According to S Sridhar, CEO (two wheelers), Bajaj Auto, ''With the new Discover 150, we are instilling a fresh momentum and adding riding excitement to the overall Discover portfolio."

Priced at Rs46.000 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Discover 150 will be launched in a phased manner across the country.

Discover is one of the largest selling brands in the Indian motorcycle market with more than 650,000 owners of Discover 100 bikes in a short span of time. For the financial year 10-11, Bajaj Auto has a sales target of 4 million vehicles including 3.6 million motorcycles, consisting of largely the Discover and Pulsar range.
