BHEL bags Rs4,000 crore contract from SCCL

State-owned power generation equipment manufacturer BHEL today said it had bagged a contract worth over Rs4,000 crore for setting up of a thermal power plant in Andhra Pradesh from Singareni Collieries Company.
"BHEL bagged a contract valued at Rs4,071 crore for setting up a 1,200 MW thermal power plant of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in Andhra Pradesh," the company said in a statement.
The company would set up a 2x600 MW unit for SCCL's upcoming super thermal power project at Adilabad with the scope of work covering design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, along with controls and instrumentation (C&I) and auxiliaries including associated civil work.
BHEL has already set up a capability to deliver 15,000 MW per annum, which would be augmented to 20,000 MW.
Last week, the company also bagged a Rs3,800 crore order from Dainik Bhaskar Power Ltd, for establishment of a 1,320-MW thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh.
BEHL has introduced new thermal units rated 270 MW, 525 MW and 600 MW, in addition to the 250 MW and 500 MW thermal sets it has been offering. It has so far secured orders for 23 thermal sets of 600-MW.
