State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has launched a new Rs599 prepaid plan that offers unlimited voice calling for 180 days. The plan is available for plan migration subscribers as well as for validity extension.
Faced with a general slump in the industry, with increasing losses and falling revenues, the state-led telecom operator has been doing everything in its capacity to lure subscribers and to retain its consumer base.
The new Rs599 prepaid plan comes with validity extension benefits, under which customers migrating to its pre-paid plan can extend validity of their previous pre-paid plans – a move to attract customers.
When the consumers recharge with this plan, they will extend the validity or the expiration date by six months, and in this period, they will get access to free local, STD and roaming calls. However, these calls will exempt the Mumbai and Delhi circle where BSNL does not have operations. If you are currently on some other BSNL plan and your plan is about you expire, then you can use the Rs599 prepaid recharge plan to update your plan validity and extend it by 180 days. This plan is currently available for users in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circle.
BSNL is also tweaking its post-paid plans and revising broadband plans for subscribers. BSNL is extending its 25 per cent cashback offer on annual broadband plans which was supposed to be limited till 31 December 2018. Subscribers who were buying the annual broadband plans of BSNL were granted 25 per cent cashbacks as BSNL credit which was then usable by the subscribers to buy more BSNL services or to be used in paying the future bills.
BSNL has also increased the validity of the Rs349 prepaid plan which was previously offering 54 days of validity. It now offers 64 days of validity. Also, the plan was revised to offer 2.2GB additional data benefit valid till 30 April 2019, thus increasing overall data benefit of the plan to 3.2GB.
