Bharti Airtel to start 4G trials in Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad this month

Telecom major Bharti Airtel plans to start trial 4G services in Chennai from Thursday 14 May and followed by in Mumbai and Hyderabad by the end of the month.
"Airtel will start trial of 4G services in Chennai from May 14 in 1800 Mhz band. It has sent out invite to some bloggers to experience its services," Jagran Post cited a source as saying.
The company's network for the launch of FDD LTE (4G) in Hyderabad is also ready and the trials are expected to start this month. In Mumbai, the company plans to provide TDD LTE (4G) in 2300 Mhz band, with trials planned for this month as well.
Bharti Airtel currently offers 4G services in 19 cities across the country, including Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.
In January it announced plans to launch 4G services in Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, North East and Punjab by December 2015, and Karnataka and Rajasthan by February and April 2016, respectively.
Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal, said in March that the company had plans to double its 4G network installing around 20,000 more sites in addition to the 20,000 sites it already had for 4G service.
