Bajaj Tempo posts 23% overall sales growth

New Delhi: Leading automobile manufacturer Bajaj Tempo has achieved a remarkable overall growth in sales of 23 per cent across its product range during April-August 2002 over the corresponding period last year.
The company has witnessed a significant increase in sales for all its product categories, comprising light commercial vehicles (both small trucks and vans), multi-utility vehicles (passenger and goods), three-wheelers (passenger and goods carriers) and tractors.
The light commercial vehicles registered an increase in sales of 20 per cent. The sale of multi-utility vehicles went up by 4 per cent, while that of three-wheelers increased by 20 per cent. In contrast to the slump in the tractor industry, the company's new and modern range of tractors recorded a stupendous 111-per cent growth in sales.
Additionally, Bajaj Tempo has achieved yet another major landmark in the current fiscal. The company has crossed the milestone of manufacturing and selling 1,00,000 three-wheelers till date. Company sources say restructuring of the value chains within the organisation has started yielding results.
