BSNL plans Rent Waiver Scheme

Kochi: BSNL Cellular Services, Kerala Circle, is introducing `Rent Waiver Scheme'' for disconnected mobile services.Under this scheme, a cell phone disconnected due to non-payment of the bill amount will be reconnected without payment of rental for the period from the date of disconnection to the date of reconnection.
The subscriber who applied for reconnection of his disconnected phone under the scheme should pay all the outstanding dues against the telephone or agree to make the payment in equal monthly instalments before the telephone connection is restored, according to an official statement.
The duration of the scheme would be only for three months from May 6.As part of the modernisation programmes, BSNL is introducing IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) based trunk booking facility in all trunk exchanges in the country. As part of this, BSNL has decided to stop all Particular Person calls (PP calls).
In Kerala Telecom Circle, IVRS-based trunk booking has already been operational in Alappuzha, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kannur Secondary Switching Areas.
